BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

The incumbent works in a full time position or job share serving as Economic Assistant within the Economic Section. Contributes to economic reporting, which may include overall responsibility for covering specific sectors of the Palestinian economy. Develops contacts with appropriate government officials and private sector organizations. Drafts notes, cables, and reports as required. Works on special projects as directed. Provides administrative support to the Economic Section including time and attendance records and travel arrangements. Monitors cable traffic, taskings, and relevant emails. Manages electronic and paper files for the section. Monitors progress of ongoing projects and generates status reports. Serves as the Economic Section's primary coordinator for visits and representational events. Provides logistical and office support to staff and long term visitors.

Requirements

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in performing general management duties that include project coordination, liaising with internal and external clients, and analyzing and compiling data is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

General understanding of business, economics, politics, and/or non governmental international organizations is required

Fully functional use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook is required.

Education Requirements:

Two years College or university studies is required.

Evaluations:

Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing in English is required. (This may be tested).
