U.S. Embassy Jerusalem

Duties:
The incumbent supports the Department of Energy (DOE) Office at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem across the Department’s equities including, but not limited to, fossil fuels, nuclear energy, nuclear security and nonproliferation, renewable energy, electricity grid, basic scientific research, energy efficiency, cyber security, and artificial intelligence in Israel. The primary function of the incumbent will be to assist the DOE Attaché with the implementation of the office’s programs and policies. This can include analysis, reporting, coordination, and meeting attendance associated with technical exchanges, bilateral negotiations, and other meetings with both government and non-government organizations. The secondary function will be to provide management and administrative support to DOE-Jerusalem.
                                                                                                       
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of work experience with a governmental or non-governmental organization in program coordination or support out of which one year must be in the energy or science sector.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have strong writing skills to prepare official memos and reports to a wide US Government audience. 

Languages: Level IV (Fluency) in English (Reading/Writing/Speaking) and Level IV (Fluency) in Hebrew is required. (This will be tested).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international affairs, political science, economics, public policy, energy or environment is required.

Evaluations:
Applicants must meet all position requirements, including experience, education, language, and skills.
