Responsibilities:

The Senior Coordination Advisor (SCa) will play a catalytic role with the OQ front office as well as the five teams within the office. The SCO will:

  • Support the CoS and HoM in day to day coordination within the office and between substantive teams; 

  • Support the DFO in the preparation of reports and other products for donors and potential donors; 

  • Work closely with the DFO on matters related to budget, HR, internal planning, security, and recruiting;

  • Coordinate and support the drafting of key documents, including the OQs report to the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee Meeting and the OQ Annual report and the array of reports required by donors; 

  • Lead in coordinating and preparing all monitoring and evaluation reports, including those disseminated to OQ donors and key stakeholders, in particular the four members of the Quartet;

  • Support the Team Leaders in the preparation of briefing materials, publications and reports;

  • Assist in the coordination of OQ fund-raising efforts with international community;

  • Coordinate office engagement in external fora as necessary, including the AHLC and the Netherlands sponsored trilateral meetings.  

The work is of a highly confidential nature and the Senior Coordination Officer must maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

Deliverables

The SCO will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Supporting day-to-day functioning and internal coordination of the Office;

  • Completion of high quality and fit-for-purpose briefing materials, publications and monitoring and evaluation reports;

  • Coordination of office engagement with key international processes, including the AHLC, and the Netherlands sponsored trilateral meeting.

All these deliverables are to be reached in close coordination and cooperation with the wider OQ team.

Education/Experience/Language requirements:

Education:Advanced degree (MA or PhD) in international relations, development, economics, political science or in a relevant academic discipline preferred.

  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in economic development and/or diplomacy is required

Work Experience: 

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in a coordinating role in knowledge-based and/or politically complex organizations is desirable.
  • Experience in the region and/or regarding the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is a distinct advantage.
  • Proven ability to coordinate staff and efforts towards high quality outcomes. 

  • Excellent communication skills: Strong verbal and writing ability; ability to create common ground among a variety of stakeholders; skilled in creating knowledge products such as policy briefs, papers, guidance notes and other pieces directed at multiple audiences

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong team player: Ability to work independently and in teams; ability to interact with high-level individuals across a range of organizations; flexible as tasks and priorities shift; respect and proven ability to work and strive in a multicultural environment.

  • High stress-tolerance level: ability to work under tight deadlines, juggling multiple competing tasks and prioritising demands from both senior management and policy level.

  • Other: Demonstrated competence with using standard office software packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).

Language Requirements:

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

  • Knowledge of Arabic and/or Hebrew is an asset.
