Job Title: Public relations and communications coordinator
Job purpose
• To coordinate RED NOSES Palestine (RNPS) overall public relations and communications activities.
Accountability:
• RNPS is engaging successfully with the public, supporters and beneficiaries.
• RNPS receives good press in the Palestinian media.
• RNPS disposes of an appealing web-presence with up-to-date content.
• Events are scheduled and organized professionally and smoothly.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing a communication strategy, yearly PR and social media plan of action.
• Responsible for the internal and external communications.
• Collect stories and document impact of programs to increase visibility.
• Developing, managing, and updating RNPS website and social media channels to raise awareness of the work of RNPS.
• Quality and timely production of audio-visual and printed materials (including content), and all RNPS publications (newsletters, brochures, flyers etc.)
• Developing and maintaining relationships with local and international media, pitch stories, write press releases.
• Documenting RNPS activities (workshops, field visits etc.) by taking photos, writing reports and other related matters.
• Writing content, translate, and proof reading of all written materials.
• Organizing and attending meetings with different stakeholders.
• Events planning and coordination.
• Prepare materials for meetings and events.
• Implementing and planning advocacy campaigns.
• Communicating RNPS mission to guests.
• Build up a photo and press archives.
• Write content in arabic and english.
• Brand protection.
• Update data base for PR contacts.
• Handling e-mails received to the general RNPS e-mail address
• Organizing media coverage and interviews with clowns, staff members, sponsors, and artists.
• Gathering and distributing of all press cuts.
• Follow up with all communication channels according to the branding strategy.
• Other tasks required.
Qualifications
• 3 years experience in public relations and communications.
• Holding BA or higher degree in press, public relations or any related field.
• The ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in arabic and english.
• Excellent social media skills.
• Well-organized, able to work with deadlines.
• An analytical mind with attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills.
• Flexibility.
• English fluency.
• Knowledge in typo3 system software website back end is a plus.
• Knowledge of video production and editing is a plus.
• Knowledge of databases and design software (e.g. photoshop) is a plus.
Working conditions
It is an office based full time job in Bethlehem, with requirement to travel around the west bank and abroad when needed.
