Vacancy Announcement 
MD-Field Accountant,  Grade: ML 4A 

Deadline for Applications: 30 June 2020 
Contract type & Duration: Limited Duration Contract (LDC) up to 31st Dec 2020; renewable; subject to fund availability.

Duty Station & Department: Field Office Jerusalem- Microfinance Department.

The incumbent reports directly to the Accounts and Finance Officer through the Senior Accountant.  
The main responsibilities include:

In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:

  • Verifies the cashiering records and functions of all the Field Office's branch and subbranch offices;
  • Maintains and controls the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers of the Microfinance and Microenterprise Programme
  • Maintains control and supervision over bank reconciliation in the programme's bank accounts;
  • Maintains and reports monthly on the office's accounts payable and receivable
  • Maintains and controls accurate records of supply and equipment purchases;
  • Verifies and retrieves the accounting data of programme from Agency's Finance Management System
  • Prepares internal financial and budget reports and statements of the programme on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
  • Drafts correspondence and other routine reports related to his/her functions;
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned


Conditions of service  

Limited Duration Contract (LDC- Band ML4A)  
Monthly basic salary 1118.5 USD (Payable in JOD) depending on the professional knowledge and experience. Other benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave pre-rated to the duration of the contract where less than one year, and family allowance (if applicable). 

To qualify for this position, you will need:

Education University degree in accountancy, business administration or finance. Ability to operate standard computer software used by the Agency including spreadsheets and database applications 
 
Work experience 
Two years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, and accounting control and reconciliation experience in a computerized working environment. 

Language(s) Fluency in both English and Arabic languages. 
 
Desirable qualifications: 
 Advanced training in accounting or auditing.
