Position: Field Coordinator

Project: "  Beyond the barriers. Promotion of a gender sensitive and sustainable rural development to ensure the food security and resilience of vulnerable communities of the West Bank " Funded by : The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS ).

Duration: 18  months 

CONTEXT OF THE POSITION:

Rural Women’s Development Society (RWDS) is a Palestinian non-governmental organization working in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. Founded in 1987 , registered with the PA.

RWDS’s mission aims at advancing the rights of rural women by creating empowering and supporting environment for them in their local communities through women’s clubs. RWDS supported the establishment of more than 58 women’s clubs throughout the West Bank and Gaza, reaching out to more than 3000 community members. 

OBJECTIVE OF THE MANDATE:

Within the frame work of the project "  Beyond the barriers. Promotion of a gender sensitive and sustainable rural development to ensure the food security and resilience of vulnerable communities of the West Bank " Funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), in participation of Oxfam,  RWDS is currently looking for a project field coordinator to coordinate the implementation of the project, which aims to strengthen the endogenous and networking capacities of herders’ and farmers’ communities living in Area C and in the Seam Zone of the West Bank, to protect and develop community-based resources and livelihoods opportunities, with special attention to women’s economic and social empowerment.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement all the activities that are directly related to the project based on the project work-plan.
• Participate in developing action-plans for the project.
• Reflect the action-plans and their goals through the different activities of the project.
•  Prepare and write all reports related to the field visits and donor requirements and submit to the Project Manager.
• Prepare project periodic reports as required by Oxfam  and submit to the Project Manager for finalization and sharing with Oxfam 
• Periodic review of all action-plans and making sure the activities are well-implemented and in line with the log frame and outcomes of the project.
• Prepare the financial documents related to the project in coordination with the finance staff.
• Other tasks that could be asked from the Field coordinator for the general interest of the project.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• BA in social and development studies, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Agronomy, or other relevant fields.

Technical Skills, Experience & Preferences

• Around 5 years of experience in field coordination.
• Academic background in social and development studies, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Agronomy  and other related fields.
• Coordination experience in the field of Agricultural , work with cooperatives, development and cooperation with civil society, international organizations, community-based organizations and donors.
• Good in English and Arabic are essential (written and spoken).
• Experience in using Microsoft software packages, particularly Word and Excel.
• Professional commitment, confidentiality and team work abilities
• The candidate should be from the North  parts of the West Bank specially ( Qalqilya Governorate)
