UNRWA’s human development goals

UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions from UN member states, regional bodies, business foundations and individual contributions. UNRWA has identified four human development goals as the focus of the Agency’s operations in committing to fostering human development of Palestine refugees by helping them to: lead long and healthy lives, acquire knowledge and skills, achieve decent standards of living and enjoy human rights to the fullest possible extent.

The main responsibilities include:

In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent will report directly to HDU and should:

• Prepares, using the AutoCAD software, all drafting works necessary for the production of site surveys, schematic designs, concept designs, master plans detailed architectural, structural, electrical & mechanical drawings and produces hard copies as necessary for further checking by supervisor
• Prepares diagrams, charts and simple graphic works for presentations, as required;
• Prepares 3-dimentional presentation drawings as required;
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Conditions of service:

Monthly basic salary Monthly basic salary JD 754.3, plus an allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate. Other benefits include:

• Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency).
• Dependency allowances (if applicable).
• 30 days of annual leave.
• Compulsory medical insurance.

To qualify for this position, you will need:

Education Post-secondary diploma from accredited institution in civil or structural engineering or a related discipline Formal training in computer-aided design, including 3- dimensional applications.

Work Experience: At least four years’ experience as a draftsman in an architectural or engineering office, using computer aided design technology; Experience in building construction materials and services Experience in non-standard office equipment (those related to Engineering works, e.g. Plotter, Drawing photocopying machine…etc).

Language(s): Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic

You will also need to demonstrate the following competencies:

(i) Ability to take initiative and maintain cordial relationship with all concerned;

(ii) Ability to make presentation of information;

(iii) Ability to work under pressure.

Desirable qualifications: Formal training in computer-aided design, including 3 dimensional applications
