Position Title: Accountant (part time)

Period: 3 months with possible extension 

Background

The National Society for Rehabilitation (NSR) is a non-profit, a non-governmental association, working toward the rights of Persons with Disabilities through different strategies (rights

advocacy, and community empowerment). NSR was established in 1990 and still working the field rehabilitation and disability adopting Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBR) which is implemented in 25 geographical locations in the Gaza strip which covers four governorates of Gaza Strip: Gaza, Middle Area, Khan Younis, and Rafah.

Job Summary:

NSR will implement project targeting women and girls with disability as GBV survivors, those women and girls are impacted by violence in their communities, the project aims to increase their abilities in countering the effects of violence and support reintegration. The project will contribute to support the needs of women and girls with disabilities through multisectoral response without being left behind those women. 

S/he will be reporting directly to the PC and work on all program activities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor the financial system in order to ensure that NSR finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner

• Assist with preparation of the budget

• Implement financial policies and procedures

• Prepare, review and file the payroll

• Prepare and reconcile bank statements

• Ensure data is entered into the system

• Monitor bank balances and ensuring that cash levels are maintained to meet payments as they are released

• Controlling budgets

• Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes

• Review monthly operating reports for accuracy, completeness and major variances between actual and budget results.

• Process all Petty Cash reconciliations 

• Monitor banking activities of the organization

Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or any other related fields. 

2. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in finance. 

3. Fluent communication skills in English and Arabic language (both written and spoken, this will be tested).

4. Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel);

5. Ability to contribute and work within a team.
