BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The American Center Program Coordinator (ACPC) creates and delivers in-house and off-campus American Center Jerusalem (ACJ) programs in Hebrew and English, as appropriate, for diverse, yet targeted, audiences generally between the ages of 15 and 45. Audiences include students, academics, civil society leaders, Government of Israel and professionals. The central responsibilities of this portfolio include English Language Programs, Cultural Engagement, and shared society. For activities between Israelis and Palestinians, the individual serves as the liaison with the Palestinian Affairs Unit (PAU). The individual seeks to develop partnerships that enhance and expand upon an understanding of the United States by identifying opportunities to add American content that align with Mission goals and partners’needs. Serves as a Grants Officer Representative (GOR). The ACPC reports directly to the American Center Program Specialist (ACPS) and indirectly to the American Center Director (ACD), collaborates with other ACJ staff, PAU staff, and works in tandem with Mission Public Diplomacy colleagues.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Experience:Three years of experience working in academia, events organization, and/or public affairs with a focus on youth, young adult and young professional audiences is required.
Languages: Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing English, Level III (Good working Knowledge) speaking/reading Hebrew, and Level II (Limited) writing Hebrew is required. (This will be tested).
Skills and Abilities: Must be ready to work irregular hours – some in the evenings
Education Requirements:
Education: Two years university studies or general college.
