Position Title:  Assistant Project Coordinator (Full time 100%)
Place: The National Society for Rehabilitation (NSR)- (Khanyounis and Middle branches)
Number of job requirement (1)
Reports To: Project Coordinator (PC)-Executive director- General Supervisor
Period: 3 months with possible extension

Background

The National Society for Rehabilitation (NSR) is a non-profit, a non-governmental association, working toward the rights of Persons with Disabilities through different strategies (rights, advocacy, and community empowerment ). NSR  was established in 1990 and still working  the field rehabilitation and disability adopting Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBR) which is implemented in 25 geographical locations in the Gaza strip which covers four governorates of Gaza Strip: Gaza, Middle Area, Khan Younis, and Rafah.

Job Summary:

NSR in partnership with Campaign for the Children of Palestine “CCP- Japan” organization will start a project entitled " Community Development for Rehabilitation and Reintegration of the Persons with Disabilities or the Other Challenges in Gaza Strip", which is funded by JPF. The project will contribute to promote independence of the persons with disabilities and in need for the treatment, without being left behind from the reconstruction process in Gaza.
S/he will be reporting directly to the PC and work on all program activities.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project coordinator in activities related to the management, implementation and monitoring of the project.
  • Closely follow-up on project human resources issues in coordination with project coordinator.
  • Assist in preparing and required documents ,  follow- up the monthly and periodical project plans and reports.
  • Review and follow up monthly plans and reports of the multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct regular monitor visits the field to ensure the quality of implemented activities of the project.
  • Provide the Project coordinator with regular reports of activities undertaken and activities planned.
  • Organize all logistics for activities.
  • Support the Project Coordinator in procurement activities, tendering, and any other logistic and administrative task, applying and following the organization and the donor’ policies and procedures, as well as the technical requirements of the project.
  • To undertake any other relevant duties required.
  • Attend  the project regular staff meetings of  NSR.
  • Translate when necessary.
  • Ensure all project reports, documents, activities are archived  in soft and hard copies in timely manner
  • Assist in the preparing and implementation of training  and awareness  workshops, PSS activities and  sport activities and other project-related activities.
  • Regularly review and when needed update project’ workplans; closely monitor the day-to-day implementation of plans by a direct and frequent presence in field.
  • Ensures confidential data is protected in accordance with established rules.

Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences or any other related fields.
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in project management, preferably working with NGOs.
  • Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent Command of Arabic, written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and team leading skills
  • Advanced computer literacy.
  • Excellent networking and coordination skills.
