GENERAL INFORMATION

Functional Title: Limb Reconstruction Database Programmer

Classified Grade: NOA

Duty Station : Gaza

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNCTION 1 (INCL. EXPECTED RESULTS)
Output 1: Transport the online limb reconstruction patient database to the local health
information system and sufficiently handover the database to the designated staff
Deliverable 1.1 Conduct a merger of the LRU database with the MoH health information system
Deliverable 1.2. Train all staff on the use of the database (trainer the trainer style training)
Deliverable 1.3. Provide technical support during the initial phase of utilization of the database

FUNCTION 2 (INCL. EXPECTED RESULTS)

Output 2: Develop an EMT-CC database to allow for ease of EMT registration, follow-up and outcome reporting Deliverable 2.1 Work with the EMT-CC to propose a solution and develop the delivery plan Deliverable 2.2 Provide a specification and delivery plan, including Gantt chart and milestones, for the development of an online EMT-CC database Deliverable 2.3. Test proof the solution making adjustments as necessary

WORK RELATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS

The Database Programmer incumbent will be managed by the Trauma and Emergency Manager and the Hospital’s Technical Officer. He/she will be expected to develop a good and positive collegial relationship with all WHO team members in Gaza and Jerusalem offices as well as those work at Nasser’s Limb Reconstruction Unit. For example the incumbent is expected to have day to day interactions with different WHO team members including the Project Management Officer, The Field Information Officer, the Patient Administrator, the Emergency Technical Officer, different consultants and others as needed and advised by the supervisor(s)  

In terms of external interactions the Programmer is expected to establish a good interaction with the IT team from the MoH as well as with the team that manages the EMT-CC together with other contacts that are important for the implementation of the activities specified above.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Essential:

A first level university degree in Information Technology (IT) or related filed from an accredited institution

Desirable: Formal training in disaster management /conflict management

Experience required:

Essential

A minimum of 1 years of coding/programming

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent knowledge English. Knowledge of Arabic would be an asset.
