The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of OBO Mechanical Engineer, FSN-11 Duration of project is 18 months (with possible extension).

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Working under the Project Director of the Overseas Building Operation (OBO) team, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing and inspecting all work elements of the construction site, reviewing shop drawings and other construction plans, developing change orders and cost estimates for the OBO GSO Lease Fit Out project. Incumbent must be capable of working independently.

Requirements:

Experience: At least five years of experience in mechanical engineering related to building construction and renovation on large scale residential or commercial development projects, of which, two years of experience in construction project management and oversight is required.

Languages: Level III (good working knowledge) speaking/reading/writing English and Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing Hebrew is required.(This will be tested).

Education: University degree in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Industrial Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Robotics Technology, or Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited institution is required

Skills and Abilities:

Must have professional skills in using engineering management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Internet Research.

Must have a valid class B driving license
