Part-Time Faculty Member / Fashion Design Lecturer

Dar Al Kalima University is seeking to hire a high qualified and well experienced part-time faculty member to fill the position of a Fashion Design Lecturer for the upcoming academic semester, which will start on the 17th of January 2022. This position is under the design program, Faculty of Design.

Place of work: Dar al Kalima University, Mureir Mountain, Bethlehem, Palestine.

Contract Type: Part Time.

Opening date: 20 December 2021 - Closing date: 5 January 2022.

Required Education

• PhD, or MA in Fashion Design or a closely related field,

• Knowledge in 2d and 3d software programs used in the field of fashion design,

• The Ability to prepare and tutor theoretical courses.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Demonstrated teaching skills and experience at the higher education level.

• Work experience in fashion design fields.

• Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams to create materials and curriculums with the help of other academic staff members.

• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English.

Courses that the applicant needs to cover for the upcoming semester:

1- Computer Assisted Design & Production II (DESI2323)

An advanced continuation of the Computer Assisted Design & Production I course. This course will provide advanced training and focus on 3D complicated designs oriented for fashion design. The course aims to provide high proficiency in CAD modeling in both an intuitive and parametric level.

2- Fashion History and Theory (DESI3326)

This course will establish a foundation for the evaluation and discussion of fashion, dress and textiles by exploring the historical, cultural, social and economic significance of sartorial fashion. The course introduces the students to a range of cultures.
